All India Post Graduate Entrance Examination MD/MS courses 2011
In compliance to the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut will conduct a competitive entrance examination on All-India basis for admission to permitted seats of Subharti Medical College in various postgraduate courses (MD/MS Diploma)
The entrance examination will be governed by the rules and regulations of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut
MD/MS/PG diploma courses
Duration of the courses
MD/MS: Three years from the date of admission. Candidates are eligible for admission after completion of compulsory rotating internship
Actual number of seats: The total numbers of seats available for the session 2011 are 47 in various specialties (subject to increase in seats by Medical council of India)
MS: Anatomy (03); ENT (01); Ophthalmology (02); General Surgery (04); Radiodiagnosis (02); Skin and VD (01)

Centres for examination: Subharti Medical College (Swami Vivekanand Subharti University) Meerut
Eligibility criteria: The candidate must be an Indian National
A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College or a foreign medical degree included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination
A candidate who, after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely to complete the same before 31st March, 2011 can take up this examination, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration on or before 31st March, 2011
Such candidates shall have to submit a certificate from the Principal/Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship in the proforma provided in the non-scannable application form, failing which their applications will be summarily rejected
Method of submission of application: A candidates seeking admission to the entrance examination is required to send his/her application in the prescribed form, given along with this prospectus. Application submitted on a copy/photocopy of application form will be summarily rejected
Examination fee is Rs 1000/- to be paid separately. The same is non-refundable and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained
The candidate should fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting, clear and legible. The detailed instructions given on the reverse of the scannable application form should be read carefully and followed scrupulously while filling in the scannable and non-scannable application forms
The candidate is required to go through the prospectus carefully and acquaint himself/herself with all requirement regarding filling in the application form
Furnishing of false information (or suppression of material information) in the application form will entail disqualification and shall render the candidate unfit for admission. If ineligibility is detected at any stage, the candidature/admission will be treated as cancelled and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained
Application form complete in all respect should be sent to controller of examinations, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Subharti Puram, NH-58, Delhi-Haridwar, By pass road, Meerut-250005in the envelope provided with application form by speed post or deposited by hand at University office. Applications received after the prescribed last date will be rejected
Incomplete application form will be rejected and no correspondence will be entertained by the Institute in this regard
It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that correct address is filled in the application form. The Institute shall not be responsible for any loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the applicant in the application form
No candidate should submit more than one application. However, if submission of another application becomes necessary for any reason, the word duplicate and form number of the earlier application should be clearly mentioned in red ink on top of the second application. Failure to do so, may entail rejection of both applications. Only one admit card will be issued to a candidate irrespective of the number of applications submitted
Since allotment of seats are made through personal appearance, candidates are not required to give their choice of subject in the application form
Admit card: The University bears no responsibility for non-receipt of admit card due to loss in transit or on any other ground. Efforts to procure the duplicate admit card from examination section, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut is the sole responsibility of the candidate
No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall/venue of allotment of seats by personal appearance without valid admit card in original
Candidates are advised to preserve the admit card till allotment of seat in college/Institute. Duplicate admit card will not be issued after the examination
Conduct of examination: The examination will be conducted at Subharti Medical College, Meerut onSunday, the 10th April, 2011 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
Candidates should report at the allotted centre of examination at 08.00 a.m. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 10.45 a.m.
No candidate should carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material except the admit card (without envelope) inside the hall. If a candidate is found to be copying/conversing with other candidates/to have in his/her possession papers, notes or books, he/she shall be disqualified from taking this examination
After distribution of question booklet, candidates must immediately ensure that they have received question booklet of the correct course viz MD/MS, as applied. Subsequent representation will not be entertained
Candidates shall maintain silence and attend to their papers only. Any disturbance in the examination hall shall be deemed as misbehavior and the candidate shall forfeit the right to continue to write in the examination. The decision of the centre superintendent shall be final and conclusive
Do not carry cellular phones, pagers, calculators etc while coming to examination centre; these are strictly prohibited in the examination centre
Scheme of examination: There will be one paper of 2 hours duration containing 150 multiple choice question (MCQs) consisting of pre-clinical, para clinical and clinical subjects
The question will be single response objective type. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded four marks. One marks will be deducted for each wrong response. Zero mark will be given for the questions not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked

Anatomy 10; Physiology 10; Biochemistry 05; Pharmacology 10; Pathology 10; Microbiology 10; Forensic Medicine 05; Ear, Nose and Throat 05; Ophthalmology 05; Community Medicine 10; Medicines with Psychiatry, Dermatology and TB Respiratory Disease 25; Surgery with Anaesthesia and Radiology 20; Obstetrics and Gynaecology 10; Paediatrics 10; Orthopaedics 05; total 150
Declaration of results: The result of successful candidates with their rank numbers is expected to be declared by the 16th April, 2011 and will be displayed on the notice board of examination section, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. It will be available on the website at www.subharti.org
Allotment of seats by personal appearance (counseling): The allotment of seats shall be made to the selected candidates through personal appearance on 24th April, 2011. The counseling shall only be done according to the rank of selected candidates who have secured not less than 50% marks in the entrance test. No separate intimation regarding counseling (allotment by personal appearance) will be sent to the candidates individually
