All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2011

AIEEE or All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2011 will open the doors for admission to National Institute of Technology (NITs) and state level education centers along with private institutes across the country. It is an important exam for all BE/ BTech and B.Arch/ B.Planning students looking for admissions in engineering/ architecture institutes in India.

AIEEE 2011 is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Hence, maximum questions that appear in this test are mainly from 11th and 12th standards.

Introduction
The Programme of Action (PoA), 1992 under the National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986 envisaged conduct of a common entrance examination on all India basis for admission to professional and technical programs in the country. For admission to Engineering and Architecture/Planning programs, Government of India vide Resolution dated 18th October 2001 has laid down a Three - Exam Scheme (JEE and AIEEE at the National Level and the State Level Engineering Entrance Examinations (SLEEE) for State Level Institutions - with an option to join AIEEE). In 2011 the AIEEE would be held on May , 2011.
Eligibility for AIEEE 2011:

Students need to pass 10+2 (Class XII) or equivalent level of education to appear for this competitive exam. There is a provision under which students giving 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination can also appear for AIEEE. Candidates with the combination of physics and mathematics and an optional subject like chemistry, biology, computer science or bio-technology are eligible for this test.

For admission to B. Arch./B. Planning courses, students need to be from mathematics background with securing a total of 50% at 10+2.

AIEEE 2011 Format:

Students looking for an admission to BE and BTech courses will have to attempt three sections in the test. These will be on Physics, Mathematics and the optional subject of your choice. Each section will have objective type questions carrying equal marks.

B. Arch./B. Planning students will have to attempt Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test sections. Each will have objective type questions. There will be negative marking for every incorrect answer.
