India Lags Behind Neighbours In Poverty Reduction
According to study published by the Oxford University , Britan on March 22 , 2013 India lags behind its neighbors in reducing poverty Levels.
India has not been able to match the achievements of even Nepal and Bangladesh in this aspects.
India posted high GDP growth rates between 1999 and 2006, but its MPI Dropped only 1.2 percent per year during the this period.
In contrast , Bangladesh's poverty levels were down 3.2 percent and Nepal's 4.1 per year over the same period.
