EAMCET 2011

Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test or EAMCET 2011 will be organized by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad in support of APSCHE. The test will open admission to various professional courses for the academic session 2011-2012 in a number of public and private colleges of Andhra Pradesh.

Courses under EAMCET:

After the successful completion of this test, students can apply for any of the following courses in their desired field of study:

Engineering (E):

B.E., B.Tech, B.Pharm (M.P.C.), B.Tech (Ag.Engg.), B.Tech. (Dairy), B.Tech (FS & T), B.Sc (CA & BM), Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy)

Agriculture and Medicine (AM):

B.V.Sc. & A.H., Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy), B.Sc (Commercial Agri. & Business Mgt) (Bi.P.C), BNYS, B.Tech. (Bio-Technology), B.Tech (Food Science and Tech) (Bi.P.C), BAMS, B.Sc (CA&BM), B.Sc.(Hort.), BHMS, B.Pharm (Bi.P.C.), MBBS, B.F.Sc., B.Sc. (Ag.), BDS

Eligibility for EAMCET 2011:

Engineering:

For admission to B.Pharmacy (M.P.C) and B.Tech (Dairying, Ag.Engineering, Food Science and Technology) candidates need to pass10+2 or equivalent level of education with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as subject combinations. The same criteria apply for the students seeking admission to B.Sc (Commercial Agri, Business Mgt, and CA&BM) courses. Students clearing any other related professional engineering and technology courses (optional) from any recognized board of education will also be considered.

For Pharmacy courses in engineering, students need to be at least 16 years old. The age limit for Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University’s B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech (FS&T), B.Tech (Ag.Engineering) and B.Sc (CA & BM) courses is 17 – 22 years.

Agriculture and Medicine Category

Candidates seeking admission to agricultural and medicine courses through EAMCET should appear for Biology, Physics and Chemistry. In some cases, they are also asked for a recognized crash course in Mathematics. 17 yrs is the minimum and 22 yrs is the maximum age limit for candidates aiming admission to courses under AM category. Students who have cleared or are in 10+2 final year can apply for the test.
EAMCET 2011 Format:

The test comprises 160 questions on Maths B/Zoology, Maths A/Botany, Physics and Chemistry. Each section carries 40 marks. Physics and chemistry sections vary from one category to another. However, syllabus remains the same. There will be objective type questions with 4 choices. Some sections may feature permutation & combination, multiple choice questions, assertion and reasoning like models.

EAMCET 2011 Schedule:

Important dates for EAMCET 2011 are listed below. These are:

1. Sale of applications at Head Post Offices, Andhra Banks main outlets and E-seva centres: 08-04-2011.

2. Sale of applications at Hyderabad’s Convener's Office: 09-04-2011 to 05-05-2011.

3. Receipt of applications without fine: 16-03-2011.

4. Issue of Hall-tickets at all Regional Centers: 18-04-2011 to 25-04-2011

5.Date of Examination: 08-05-2011

6. Time of Examination: 10.00AM to 1.00 PM (Engineering), 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM (Agriculture and Medicine)

Those who submit the form with a late fee will have to do so in person at the Convener’s office, Hyderabad and the test centers will be allotted at Hyderabad/ Secunderabad only.
