The Motilal Nehru School of Sports was founded in July 1973 by the Government of Haryana to provide excellent educational facilities with extra emphasis on sports to deserving students. It is a fully residential and coeducation school.

School Campus
The school is located at Rai, Sonipat District. Rai is popularly known as �Beeswan Meel� and is about 37 kms North of Delhi on the Sher Shah Suri Marg. The magnificent school campus, spread over 300 acres, consists of academic and administrative blocks, hostels, residential accommodation for staff, auditorium, athletics stadium, swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis courts, basketball and volley ball courts; equitation lines, football and hockey fields, cricket stadium, squash courts, a school Infirmary and miles of boulevards lined by majestic trees.
Teaching Staff
The teaching staff consists of fully qualified and trained teachers with the necessary attributes and aptitude to work in a residential school. The coaches are from school�s own establishment and on deputation from the Sports Authority of india They are fully qualified and equipped with the necessary expertise in the relevant discipline.
Pupils
Boys and girls are admitted in the ratio of 2:1, 75 children, 50 boys and 25 girls are admitted to Class IV, the lowest point of entry to the school.
Affiliation
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and prepares the students for the All India Secondary School Examination (Class X) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) following the 10+2 pattern of education.
All streams are offered by which students can prepare themselves for courses in Humanities, Science or Commerce. The medium of instruction is English. The school is organized on the public school�s pattern and is a member of the Indian Public School�s Conference.

An admission fee of Rs 100/- is required to be sent along with the school fee and other documents. A security deposit of Rs 1000/- is collected from each child, which is refundable at the time the child leaves the school. A rebate of 20% per annum per child on the above fee (subject to a maximum of Rs 1,000/-) is granted to the wards of serving Haryana Government employees and of Defence Personnel (Army, Navy and Air Force only) from Haryana. Real brother/sister concession available up to 10% of the fees subject to a maximum of Rs 500/- in respect of second child also on the roll of the school.
Admission
Students seeking admission must be between the ages of 8 and 10 years on the 30th of June of the year in which the admission is sought. There is a written test in Hindi, English, Mathematics, General Knowledge and Awareness, a Physical Efficiency and Sports Aptitude Test, Medical Examination and Interview.

Sports
Adequate coaching and practice is given in all sports both in the morning and evening sessions. The school has an Olympic size swimming pool (solar heated in winter), a modern gymnasium, lush green tennis courts, two squash courts and well equipped fields and facilities for all the major and minor games including riding.
The school teams in various sports are encouraged to participate in several state and national level tournaments and Inter House tournaments. Performance/ achievement in sports and games is also regularly graded and a student who does not achieve the minimum acceptable grade is asked to be withdrawn from the school.
Extra Curricular Activities
First aid community health, wood/metal work, carpet making, leather work, needle work, photography, electronics, industrial chemistry, fine/commercial art, gardening, music, dance, clay modeling, computers and so on. Students are actively encouraged to participate in dramatics, group singing, poetry recitation, journalism, debates, nature study, philately and pen-friends.
